These blanks are cut from Olea Europaea, a small shrub-like tree native to the Mediterranean, Asia and Africa. The coloring is a warm yellow, interlaced with fine veins of medium to dark brown, with an occasional hint of green. Olivewood is hard, heavy and fine textured with small, closed pores. It turns and polishes beautifully.
